The park is family owned in the small town of Elk City, OK, just off I-40. The town is located on the famous Route 66 route and boasts some unique boutiques. The RV sites are somewhat level, all pull-through with FHUs, free WI-FI and cable tv. Our WI-FI didn’t work real well, but the cable received several channels. We were able to fit our 35’ fifth wheel and four door Dodge in the site provided, but it was a tight turn to pull in. (A bigger rig might want to request a space on the end for easier access.) The park offers 24 hour laundry facility, shower/bathhouse, a recreational room (available for rent) and a pavilion. I believe there is also a sauna located in the office and is available during office hours. The park also offers storm shelters (if your not from Oklahoma or Texas, you may not realize that this is a great amenity! Especially in tornado season!). Dining options are within walking distance and a Walmart is nearby.
We had spent the last few days driving down I-40 from Nashville back to our home town of Dalhart, TX. Our Nashville trip had turned out to be quite the adventure! So by the time we reached Elk City (after a day of standing around Camping World of Oklahoma City) we were just ready to get off the road. I had found Elk Creek RV Park on the map through my RV Parks app and we were glad to have a nice place to stop. It is a top rated Good Sam park and the owners were very friendly. We would stay again!
